Pre-Weight Loss Journey: Fighting Diabetes Head-On!
After Weight Loss Journey: 80 Pounds Lost, Healthier and More Aware

Diabetes & Proclamation

Diabetes Awareness Advocate | Proclamation Recipient | Survivor (2023-2025)

I wasn’t always confident. I used to be nervous in new situations, afraid to speak up. I even struggled with my weight and nearly developed childhood diabetes.

But instead of letting that define me, I made a choice: to change. I overhauled my lifestyle, lost 80 pounds, and slowly began to grow, not just physically, but emotionally.

I leaned into vulnerability, recognizing that true strength comes from acknowledging your struggles and turning them into purpose.

What began as a personal fight for health evolved into a public mission: I wrote a book on childhood diabetes, sold over 150 copies, used the proceeds to organize more than 10 awareness events educating over 30 children, collaborated with school nurses and local doctors, and led a citywide campaign that earned an official proclamation from the Mayor of Missouri City.

“June 27 Will be celebrated as Childhood Diabetes Awareness Day in Missouri City Texas – Awarded to Paarth Mathur”

I saw myself in the kids who showed up to those events – quiet, uncertain, trying their best. And I like to believe that a few of them left feeling a little more seen, a little more hopeful. That journey taught me that real change doesn’t begin with waiting for someone else to lead. It begins when you decide to act.

That journey taught me that change doesn’t start with others. It starts with yourself. My mission has always been to lead by example because when people see your transformation, they believe in the possibility of their own. Knowledge, discipline, and a relatable story that’s the formula I stand by.
